Phantasialand

Zoo Cologne

Visit one of the oldest zoos in Germany and enjoy a piece of original rainforest amidst the city. Have a look at the old zoological gardens and constructions like the elephant house which has been built in 1863. The monkey park which was inaugurated in 1914 is another interesting place to see. But also the new project the elephant park might fascinate you. An aquarium, terrarium and insectarium are featured too.

Cableway of Cologne (Close to the Zoo)

Drachenfels

The Drachenfels (Dragon Mountain) part of the “Siebengebirge” local mounatins. The main attraction is the ruin of the castle Drachenburg. An ideal destination to enjoy the beautiful nature around. But you will also find other attractions at the Drachenfels, just like the Drachenfelstrain.

The Castle Augustusberg was the favorite residence of the elector of cologne and of the Archbishop Clemens August von Wittelsbach (1700-0761). This castle is one of the masterpieces of the rococo and belongs to the most important landmarks of that time.
Only a view minutes away from the castle you will find the hunting lodge “Falkenlust”, the preferred castle of the elector of cologne and of the Archbishop Clemens August. Both castles are UNESCO world heritages since 20 years.
